Education & Background
Annika Brooks graduated from the University of Washington Family Nurse Practitioner program with her Doctorate of Nursing Practice, and has been working as a primary care provider in community health since 2020. Prior to that, she received bachelor’s degrees in Spanish and International Studies with foci in Global Health and Latin America from the University of Oregon and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at Oregon Health and Science University. She lived in Washington and worked as an Emergency Department nurse, both in Yakima and Seattle, for four years prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner. Throughout her training, Annika traveled to Ecuador, Mexico and Spain where she studied nursing, volunteered at a birthing clinic and became fluent in Spanish. She spent many summers translating and assisting with health screenings at medical farmworker clinics.
