Amanda is a Resident and had the privilege of attending medical school at the Escuela Latinoamericana de Medicina (ELAM) in Havana, Cuba. This opened a unique opportunity for her to develop experience in public health, advocacy for marginalized communities and primary care. She went to the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), majoring in Spanish Literatures and Cultures and Molecular & Cellular Biology. Amanda was her school’s Valedictorian and received the Scientific Merit Award.
